There’s a lot of meringue and a lot of jelly. The jelly fish will help a little, but you’re still going to need to be pulling big combos out of the hat on this one. Colour bomb and striped candy, or colour bomb and colour bomb will help you scratch the surface here. You can mix colour bomb with a jelly fish too, but wait until the meringue blocks are filled with candy, otherwise you’ll be wasting a special.
Working on one side of the board, then the other (instead of spreading your play across the board) seems to be the most effective strategy for this level. It’s the last level in the Candy Clouds episode, so it’s as difficult as you may expect.
Candy Crush level 290 is the last level in the Candy Clouds episode. This is seen as one of the hardest levels in Candy Crush Saga. This level features Four-layer meringue, Marmalade, & Five-layer meringue. To beat level 290 you must clear 43 jelly squares and score at least 35,000 points. This level is very difficult because all of the jelly squares are hidden under the 4 and 5 layer meringues.
To beat this level, you will need to start off by destroy all the meringues. In the process of destroying the meringues, you will clear the marmalade over the jelly fish and your instinct will be to crush these.. but don’t. You must save the jelly fish as long as you can because they are great to use at the end when you have only a few jelly squares left to crush. They also wont clear any jelly if there are meringues over the jelly still.
Every move you make on this level should be touching a meringue unless there are absolutely no other moves. A great special candy combo to get on this level is the wrapped/wrapped candy combinations. This clear a large area of meringue and does so twice. Maker sure you can scan the board well after every move as there are probably some opportunities for special candies that you don’t want to miss. These are imperative to beating this level. You will not beat this level by just making 3 candy crushes. For a video on how to beat level 290, view below.
